Alliance Française de Colombo

Founded in 1954 as a Sri Lankan Association by a group of friends of France, Alliance Française de Colombo acquired the legal status as an institution in Sri Lanka in 1955 a non profit making body , committed to promote French Language and to promote francophone culture. It is registered as a Local Company under the Companies Ordinance N° 51 of 1938. From the very beginning, the institution has been the centre of promoting French Language and Culture in and around Colombo and CONTINUES TO PROVIDE EXCELLENT TEACHING OF FRENCH LANGUAGE in a friendly atmosphere. Anyone interested in learning or sharing his or her taste for French are Welcome and will definitely find that Alliance Française is the place to be.

Alliance Française de Colombo is Governed by a Sri Lankan Executive Committee headed by a President elected by the Members at the Annual General Meeting.

Director & the Teaching & Adminstrative Staff

The Directress is a Sri Lankan who has obtained her Degree in French Language at the Sorbonne University in France and Double Masters obtained at Sorbonne University & Versailles University in France. Other Teaching Staff are also highly qualified Teachers in French Language and the most experienced count more than 30 years and 27 years of French Teaching at Alliance Française de Colombo. In the classrooms, teachers adopt a very cooperative and dynamic approach enabling Students to learn French in a friendly way which makes it easier for Students to learn. Administrative Staff are experienced , friendly and helpful and some of them speak French. Classroom Facilities Small but spacious class rooms are used for teaching. Only a reasonable number of students (20 maximum) are admitted to a class.
All Classrooms are Air-Conditioned and backed up with modern audio-visual equipments.
